No. Element Fusion requires no accounts, logins, or sign-ups of any kind. Progress saves automatically to the student's own browser using localStorage. No data ever leaves the student's device.

No. Element Fusion collects no data whatsoever. There is no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and no server-side storage. Progress saves only to the student's own browser via localStorage and never leaves their device. This makes it safe to use in any classroom without COPPA, FERPA, or GDPR concerns.

Element Fusion covers two main areas: (1) bench chemistry — combining elements and compounds to discover acids, salts, oxides, organic molecules, alloys, and more; and (2) stellar nucleosynthesis — fusing elements inside the Stellar Core to replicate the proton-proton chain, triple-alpha process, and the alpha ladder from carbon to iron. Every reaction is real chemistry, not invented game logic.

Yes. All of the chemistry lives in a single readable JavaScript file (data.js). Teachers can add new compounds and reactions by filling out a documented template and either emailing it to johnathanmoore@elementfusion.org or submitting a pull request on GitHub at https://github.com/johnathanmoore9066/chem-game. Complete submissions can be plugged in as-is and are credited in the next update.

What is the Stellar Core in Element Fusion?

The Stellar Core is a glowing zone at the center of the reaction canvas where nuclear fusion reactions take place. Reactions that require stellar temperatures — like fusing hydrogen into helium or climbing the alpha ladder to iron — only work inside the core. The same two elements behave differently depending on whether they collide on the bench or inside the core, mirroring how real chemistry and nuclear physics differ.

Element Fusion works on mobile browsers but is optimized for desktop use. The drag-and-drop reaction mechanic is most natural with a mouse or trackpad. On touch devices, the interface stacks into a single-column layout, but the drag mechanic may be less precise on smaller screens.
